When do you do HCG injections?

Does your Re wait till you get a positive on the OPk of just wait till your blood work and US shows mature follicles.  My Re bases it off Blood work and Us but, always has me inject way early  cd6-8 when I o on my own it's always  later 10-13.  Just wondering what other's are doing? 
10/17/2009 - Our Miracle came 10 weeks early. IF,2 MC and 1 Preemie we have our miracle.. Baby Hope 10 weeks 5days was taken from us on Dec 18, 2007. Forever with us and Forever missed. Triplets Lost baby A @ weeks, Lost Baby B at 6 weeks and lost baby Abigail at 14 weeks when she was born to little for this life..... Forever with us ....

    When you are taking fertility meds, your regular cycle kind of goes out the window. It is normal for them to speed up your cycle. My RE does u/s and blood work which is much more reliable then OPKs.
    A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
    After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
    My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

    My RE decided the trigger for me based on my E2 levels and u/s.  I hadn;t been getting +OPKS, so on CD18, I triggered.

    Med depend on my estogen levels since they are high.  Last month I took Follistm on 4,5,6 110 IU and Injected on the 7th and O on the 8th, This month I started on cd 5 150 iui and I take it for for 5 and 6 and go back to Re on 7th which I'm guessing hill have me inject then,.

    They base mine off my CD 14 u/s. However if I do get a postive OPK after that but before the scheduled trigger, then in that case I would trigger right away and have the IUI the next day.
