We did, to have one upstairs and one downstairs. Also had an exersaucer at my mom's house! One was a hand-me-down and the others were bought used on the local classifieds. Because most people only get a few months worth of use out of them, they are floating around the classifieds everywhere, and usually for about half the price of what they would be brand new.
My understanding from my girlfriends was that the exersaucer was good at an earlier age for them to hang out in, and then when they are stronger and can move a little more the jumperoo is good. I registered for a jumperoo but will either borrow an exersaucer or get it at a consignment sale.
After 2+ years and multiple treatment cycles, including an IVF vacation in Costa Rica/Panama, IVF #2 brought us our miracle baby!
We only had the FP Bounce and Spin Frog. It is a smaller "footprint" and we just didn't want a lot of stuff in our house. We used it for maybe 4 months. We didn't need more than that.

No , you absolutely do not. They're the same thing, except kiddo can eventually bounce around in a jumperoo. When they're little, they'll just hang out in a jumperoo - just like an exersaucer. Get a jumperoo.
Not necessary, especially since they take up quite a bit of space. We just got the jumperoo since it's basically the same as an exersaucer but LO also has the option of jumping.

Nooo...we went the jumperoo route and have put both kids in it at a young age with a pillow underneath for support. Of course not until they have great head control...but I would say buy one or the other...not both.
We have both and used both at different stages and loved them for different reasons but if I were only going to get one it'd be the jumperoo. But DD did use the exersaucer a lot earlier on.

We have an exersaucer that bounces and the inner seat spins/rotates. Best of both worlds
