It's me....again. I've been dreading for years that I might have issues TTC based on my irregular period pre-BCP. They would skip 2-6 months at a time up until I started on BCP. I've been off BCP for 6 months now, and my periods haven't returned to any sort of normal schedule. Two normal cycles 30 & 38 days then an 83 day cycle ended by provera. Now on cycle #4. I'm convinced something is wrong, but I don't exhibit the typical PCOS symptoms. The only thing I've got is irregular periods and acne. Anyone else have minimal symptoms but have PCOS?
Obviously the only way to know for sure is to be tested, but I was just curious what others have experienced. I am more than likely going to have bloodwork done tomorrow if my temps don't stay up to confirm I O'd.
Re: PCOS but few symptoms?
PCOS is so amorphous. For example, I have PCOS and have some severe symptoms, but I ovulate. For others, they may not have the same symptoms. The only way to know for sure is a blood test and/or ultrasound.
GL.
For me I didn't have any symptoms until I stopped BCP, that's when the weight gain and my hair started shedding alot. I had two long cycles 65 and 118 days and then I had bloodwork done that showed slightly elevated levels and indicated PCOS. That was followed by an ultrasound which confirmed some small cysts. Metformin has gotten me to start O'ing (at least last month, and hopefully if my temp stay up this month too). Get the B/W done, it's better to know what is going on and start a plan to deal with it. GL!
I guess it doesn't hurt to get the bloodwork done. If my temps stay up it will be for nothing but if they don't, I'll be happy my testing is already being done. Thanks ladies.
Yeah, I'm convinced I should go ahead w/ the bloodwork, just in case. I had a period for 3 years before BCP & it was never regular. I know it can take some time to regulate after BCP, but this just doesn't seem normal to me. I've always had this sneaking suspicion that something wasn't right, but it never mattered until now. Wish I would've known sooner.
