There's a debate about "baby talk" going on at another site that I post on and I was just wondering what other people think.
I
define "baby talk" as made up, nonsense words that have no real meaning
or significance for anyone, not even the child at whom they're directed. This means that "baby talk" is not the words that your DC makes up.

I completely agree. I talk to DD in a different "mommy voice" but I always use the right words. I don't want her to learn baby talk, I want her to learn the actual words. I'm afraid that using baby talk will just delay her speech.
