A while back, there was a debate on the board about whole milk vs 2%. One of the nestie's (who was/is a nutritionist) made several posts about how 2% was just as healthy as whole milk for toddlers.
For the life of me I can't find that thread
Does anyone remember it? Or have the old link?
If not, would you please share your views about 2% and whole milk? What are you currently feeding DC? Our pedi wants us to switch to whole milk.
Thanks girls!
Re: Does anyone remember the milk debate?
I think I started giving DD whole milk when she turned 1. I continued to give her whole milk until she was 2. Then we switched to skim milk, which is what DH and I drink.
It was a PITA buying 2 things of milk. However, I can't even drink 1% milk. It has to be skim.

I only drink whole milk so that what they get but even if I didn't drink it I would give them the whole milk anyway. Danica is tiny and she needs the fat when she actually will drink it

eta: DS doesn't drink milk at all. But I remember the rec change.
This is exactly what we did.
Thanks girls ~ I really appreciate your replies and information. Zenya, thanks for that link!
I guess we'll be switching over to whole milk then until she's 2 y.o.
That's probably the thread! IIRC, one girl was saying she had to give her DC whole milk and the nutritionist was saying that 2% was just fine.
We gave Jake whole milk at age 1, but by 18mo we had switched to 2%. His daycare only give 2% milk to all ages.
