Success after IF

In Germany...naked FIL and bad yeast infection-VENT

Ok- so we are here in Germany.  My idea of a vacation is NOT being here with my in-laws, but I love my husband so here I am...bored out of my mind, feeling claustrophobic and in pain.  Why in pain?  I got a nasty yeast infection last night and guess what?  There are no stores open on Sundays.  UGH!!!  I haven't had a yeast infection in several years, so I didn't pack my just in case items for things such as this.  So here I wait, until tomorrow feeling like total crap and pretending to feel great.

Oh- and could someone tell the in-laws that they need to use some discretion when there are visitors in the house?  I have seen my FIL naked before (even in my house) and this morning, there he is, completely naked, walking out of the bathroom.  I realize it means nothing to be naked in this country, but PUHLEASE have the decency to cover up with your daughter-in-law is in the house.  Oh- and could someone ask the the rest of the family to close the door when they use the bathroom?  I never know who I might walk in on when trying to pee.

Anyone want to come visit me?  I want to go home!!!

Vent over...for now!

  • uugh, poor lady! I would happily come visit  you and laugh hysterically at Poppa when he struts his viener-schnitzle in public.

Don't know if they have herbal/whole food type places around you, but Tea Tree oil can help with that yestie. Dilute 1 tsp of pure oil in a clean water sprayer (like the travel size) and spritz. When I feel a yeastie or BV coming on, I'll often soak a pon in the solution and "wear" that for about an hour, and still spritz throughout the day. Both anti-b and anti-fungal, it's a GREAT solution if you don't have meds. OK to use with pregnancy too, I was told. (and did)

GL! hope you get better soon!

  • Thanks Davez- I actually am quite the expert on yeast infections...used to get them recurrently after taking a nasty German antibiotic one time when I was here ( I ALWAYS get sick when I come here).  I have used tea tree oil and vinegar before...the thing that works the best for me is boric acid in a capsule (which I never used to travel without).  But, as you can see, there are NO stores open for me to get anything today.  I told DH when no one is looking, I am going to soak a tampon in vinegar and stick that up there for 30 minutes or so.  That's the best i can do on a Sunday.  I really, really miss the convenience of the States!!

Oh- and I'm sure that some of you all would get a real kick out of seeing FIL's flaccid snausage flopping around...but that man and I just don't get along too well, therefore it is NOT funny to me...

  • Wow. I'm so sorry. Being away from home when you're sick is the worst. I hope you feel better soon, and your vacation gets better. Can you get out of the house and go sight seeing or something?

  • That is really repulsive!  I know you're a nurse, but that is SO SO WRONG!!!

I wish you the best in getting through your yeast infection and to surviving the rest of your so-called vacation.  I'm waving my magic wand in hopes you won't remember what you've seen. ;)
