I recently weaned DS due to some allergies and he is on soy formula. For the first week, he was taking 5, 6 oz bottles (so 30 ounces) but in the past week he has drastically reduced the amount he will take. Now I would say he is taking 20-24 ounces total. There has been no other real change, he just won't finish bottles or he will take one less bottle a day due to his schedule. He's a pretty big boy already, but I'm worried that he is no liking the formula or something.
Also, his poops are now black/green and SUPER thick...is this normal for formula fed babies?
Re: How many ounces for a 6 month old?
Have you started solids? I have been slowly weaning for about a month now, and his poops have gotten more and more green. He is not on soy formula at all, though. We use Good Start Natural Cultures.
Charlie takes about 25-30 oz. on average, with a solid meal at dinner with 2 veggie purees.
