What time is DC's dinner time vs bedtime?

I'm curious what time you all feed your DC's their dinner and then when is their last bottle before bed and then when is their "bedtime"?

I'm thinking maybe I feed my little guy too late---typically he nurses around 6pm--then we do a bathe around 6:30 and then 7pm when we're done with that he will have his dinner (about 1-2oz of veggie/fruit and 2tbsp cereal) and then we read books, play, spend time together and then he has a bottle or nurses maybe around 8pm or so (unless he wants to sooner) and then falls asleep with that somewhere around 8:30 or so.

I've tried packing him full at night but it's not working-still wakes up 8 hours later to feed......and he's a big boy--so maybe he really does need those calories, I have no idea.

  • DS eats "dinner" (solids) at 5:30  he goes to bed anywhere from 6:30-7 and nurses right before he goes down.

  • DD takes her last 8oz bottle at 5pm, then dinner (solids) about 5ozs at 6:30 and is in her crib by 7:15, asleep by 7:30.

  • DS has dinner at 6 then we do bath at 6:30 he has a bottle with oatmeal in it at 7 and is asleep by 7:30 and he sleeps until 7am or so.

  • DS eats dinner around 6:30.  He recently started eating a BUNCH more.  He went from eating one jar of baby food (4 oz. equivalent) to eating more than three (two jars plus oatmeal).  Nurses at 8:00, laid down drowsy and asleep usually by 8:30.  And he's been sleeping better since eating more.  I think the poor guy was just hungry.  Granted, he STILL wakes at least once/night to nurse, but that's a good night to me.  I know he should STTN but I'm taking it one step at a time.

  • DS had his dinner (a stage 2 or 3  veggie/meat combo & a stage 2 fruit) around 6pm and then has a bath around 7:30/8pm and an 8oz bottle after that and is sleeping anywhere between 8 & 9pm. Oh, and my guy still wakes at night too but it's just to be rocked or brought in to our bed, not to eat.

  • DS eats dinner between 5:30-6:00.

Bedtime routine starts at 7:30, includes bath and bottle, so he's asleep after the bottle by 8:00.

He wakes up at around 6:30.

Have you tried not feeding him when he wakes up in the middle of the night? I'm not saying you should starve your child, but the way our pediatrician put it is that babies this age and size do not need to wake up to eat anymore. They do only because they're used to it, and have trained themselves (and you) to do it. But that might require some sleep training to make the adjustment.

  • We get home pretty late. An hour commute from work/daycare, so 6:30 nurses when we get home, 7ish solids while we are eating dinner, 7:30 bath, 8ish nurses last time before bed.

Yes--I've tried but he truly is hungry I think--I mean, he eats and eats and eats----and now instead of just emptying one breast (which was probably 5 oz) he's getting to both...yikes.

  • DS usually has dinner around 5 or 5:30pm which is usually cereal and some kind of meat / veggie combo, then we play or take a walk and relax, i bath him around 7:30 and he gets an 8oz bottle around 8pm, then he is off to bed and usually asleep by 8:30.

  • I don't get home from work til 6ish, so we hit the ground running to make her 7:30 bedtime because that is when she is tired and done for the day.

    6:30 solids

    Bath, playing, etc.

7:30 7 oz bottle and bed.

  • DS has "dinner" at about 6ish.  He then drinks his bottle around 7:15 and then goes to bed afterwards.
