Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Ok she's got 2 other children and no one asked where the 7 month old was?!?!?!

Seriously WTF?

Normally I try to exhibit some empathy when I read stories like this but I just can't this time, she has two older children and presumably she is married and in 12+ hours no one asked where the 7month old baby was?!?!?!

  • We were just talking about crazy stuff like this at work last night. You have to have a license to get married, drive a car, have certain jobs, hunt, fish, etc. pretty much anything.... But ANYONE can procreate! WTF?

  • wow.  i can't imagine not noticing for 12 hours!  the article said low temp was 50 degrees... i would not have guessed that was low enough to cause death.  i'm guessing there's more to this.

  • I agree with pp.  There has to be drugs or something involved for a mother to not realize that she didn't feed, hear, care for, or put her baby to bed after returning home from daycare.  Our whole night is based around our 9 month old.

Babies can die of exposure at that temperature because their little bodies are unable to regulate body heat the way adults do, that is why it is reccomended that babies wear an extra layer of clothing.

  • No doubt there is more to this story than meets the eye!

  • I watched the video about it and it said that she took a painkiller and drank a glass of wine BEFORE she went and picked up her children from day care. That was her own stupid fault. I feel horrible for the baby but she deserves to get her kids yanked from her care. She should know better than not to mix painkillers and alcohol, especially when she had to take care of her children.
  • That woman had ONE responsibility - take care of her children.  Everything else, paying bills, doing laundry etc, either is to support her children, or are not as important as the safety of her children.  She should not be allowed to see her children again, period.  I can't imagine what that baby went through.

  • We were discussing this yesterday on our local board.  It really pisses me off.  I hope she gets her kids taken away.  It doesn't make sense that you could forget your baby for 12 hours.  I think foul play was involved.
