Grrr - so annoyed at BRU re: registry

So I had a few items that we got duplicates of or that we never used (off our registry) so I finally got them all together to return for store credit and my registry is listed as inactive and I can't return them because it is just over 6 months.  I wish they sent out a reminder or something.  I am sure it was in the stuff but I know it was never explicitly told to me.  I was tempted to change my due date to 10/1 but 2009 is the only year option so that won't work.  It is probably about $60-65 worth of stuff.

    Could you maybe change it to a date in 2009? I don't think they are going to look too heavily into it.  It's not like you are looking to get cash back (I assume) so what would be the big deal in getting swapping out the items for diapers or something? 

    Toysrus just refused to let me exchange a duplicate toy Aidan got for his birthday - I finally broke down and asked the gift giver if they had a receipt, I hate doing that but I hated the thought of their gift never being used either.

    Yep, BRU recently changed their return policy because too many people were taking advantage of it (not saying that's what you were doing). Now you can't return anything w/o a receipt, even for just store credit. I tried to return a cheapie umbrella stroller (a brand that is only sold at BRU) and they wouldn't do it. Luckily I was able to sell it on craigslist for almost the full price.

    Totally cheating but does BRU let you update your registery to show when somethign has been bought.  If so what about if you created a new registery, added the stuff, and they marked it off as bought.
