  I don't think of maple syrup as a dessert...a delightfully sweet addition to breakfast, yes, but that's it.

  I wouldn't sully the sweet sweetness of maple syrup with your special blend of chemicals and artificial sweetners.  You are more like candy canes, cheap, over produced and good once a year.
