DS eats mostly pears and peas. Bananas constipate him horribly, and squash tends to keep things from moving along too. I've heard apples can also constipate. He doesn't like peaches. Since its becoming clear he has my GI system, we'll have to watch what he eats to keep things moving, which in turns keeps a much happier baby. But, I feel like he just eats the same two things everyday (pears & pears), with no variety of new foods day to day. He's currently eating Stage 1. Any others that'd be good to add into the mix that aren't constipating?
He does eat prunes every now and then but they seem to cause bad diaper blowouts, good for keeping things moving though or helping along when he's constipated.
Re: What solids does your LO eat?
DD had bad constipation with anything she ate... now she is better. on that note my doc said apples are fine, but applesause can constipate. something about the pectin. i think apples are fine, but applesauce has pectin that causes binding. I THINK.
We've had luck with all veg, all fruit, and combo meals. now that she is crawling she doesn't bind up. But I also give about 1-2 oz prune juice daily, pear juice, grape juice and water is key.
