AW: The second monkey, a caterpillar, and my first felted project (PIP)

I finished the second monkey for a friend's two boys...and I am in love!  How am I supposed to part with these two little guys??  :o

And my first felted project!  I crocheted a square box, felted it - and voila - it turned into a round bowl!  I love how it turned out, but I guess I would have to make the box stiffer so that it would remain a box after felting, huh?

  • Ok, the story with the monkey... the pattern I used specifically says it's for personal use only, no selling, etc. etc.  Sooo, I am working on my own pattern that will be equally cute (if not cuter) and then I will sell monkeys to all of you.  :o)
  • Those are awesome. I like the bowl.

  • Great job!  I absolutely love the monkeys too (we have a thing for monkeys...)  On the bowl, I saw some cylindrical bowls on etsy the other day - the description said they were washed/felted and then molded over something to dry & shape them.  could you try something like that?  (I have no experience with felting, so I'm not sure how well it would work.)

    I found them

Thanks for the link...those bowls are beautiful!  I definitely need to research felting a little more.  I just threw it in the wash to get an idea of what would happen.

What if we paid you an excessive amount of extra $ for the "price of the supplies" and you "made it for free"?  Technically that's personal use....right? Wink
