  Lia is the Italian spelling of Leah. I chose that to reflect my Italian heritage...it even pairs well with the big ol' German last name she is stuck with!

  Other family names we had on deck: Josefina, Gaetana, Costanza, Filomena, Asunta, Maddalena, Margotta.
