tell me about evaporation lines

are they for real? a myth?

Why didn't I just buck up for a digital?

Haven't had first pp yet.  Been feeling...off.  A few signs that made me wonder like fatigue, dizziness and bledding gums after brushing etc.  Haven't had bleeding gums since last time I found out I was pg.

I POAS this mornig, it looked negative pretty fast. I got sidetracked by DS and didn't wait the full 2 minutes.  I came back 15 minutes later to shower.  Glanced down at it and there was a line.  A LINE.

My train of thought after that:

Oh shiit what is that?  A line is a line right?  Gah.  Shiit, am I ready to do this again?  Oh wait, evaportation lines...what are those any way?  OMG I'm going to puke.  Why why didn't I get a digital? Aww, another baby.

FWIW, this is pretty much what happened when I found I was pg with River.  The non-digital left me with questions so I went and got a digital and sure enough....

    Evap lines are usually faint and gray, as opposed to the same color as the control line. If it was dark and the same color as the control, it very well may be a +, since you didn't wait the full 2 minutes to see. Test again.

    ETA: Evap lines are very real though. That's why the instructions say not to look after 10 minutes. But since you didn't wait the whole time, there's no way to know which it was.

    I think evap lines tend to be faint, although I could be wrong.  Was it a dark line?  Go get a digital and see for sure.  If you are, congratulations!

    Oh it would be a good thing. Just a bit sooner than we were thinking...

    I am going to a baby shower where i used to work for a friend there in about an hour so I don't have time...I am going to pick up a digital on the way home though and do it tomorrow morning.

    the line was blue, the same blue as the other lines...just a little fainter.

    oh it was from around 8:30 this morning and it is noon right now, so it probably wouldn't be "good" anymore?

    The day I found out I was pg, I poas in the morning and it turned neg after 2 minutes. ?I even looked at it again before I left for work and it was still neg 20 min later. ?I went to the obgyn that day to get a script for clomid and I was so bummed that I thought I had to take it. ?I don't know why but I went to go look at the test I took that morning again and saw another line. ?I totally thought it was an evaporation line, but a digital confirmed that I was indeed pg. ?Go out and get a digital. ?GL!

     I don't know. It can change the appearence the longer it sits. But you could PIP it anyway, and then we can all give a better opinion!

    1.) is that a Rite Aid brand test? If so, they SUCK

    2.) My test (looks like the same one as yours) looked the EXACT same way. I saw the negative line, then 2 minutes later, I saw a positive line showing up. I nearly fell off the toilet.

    3.) I'm pregnant and my test looked the same as yours, so I'm gonna say CONGRATS!!

    it's a life brand (Shoppers Drugmart in Canada) so probably the same makers as Rite Brand. 

    I'm getting dizzy.  And I have to go!  I am going to be late for this baby shower...
