I also posted this on the 2nd tri board)
I have the Pink Paisley Splash bedding set from JCP (seen here) and I wanted to do horizontal pink and white stripes on the wall (like this, but pink). But, I'm wondering...would you match the pink paint with the main pink from the bedding or would you try to go a shade darker/lighter? And, do you think this might be too much pink??
Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!
Re: Paint Help..what would you do??
I kind of think it would be too much pink but mayber if you striped white with the lightest pink in the bedding, it'd work!
I personally like when you have a tone on tone stripe using a glaze. It gives a wonderful effect without fighting other patterns in a room. In your case I would match the pink and use a glaze. Here is an example of what I am talking about even though it isn't a very good picture.

Yes on both counts.
My advice is going to be to look up how to paint your stripes, I had my wall in tan on the bottom, blue on top and wanted to put a brown stripe to separate the two around the room, so I painted the brown on the bottom and blue on top and then put my tape up to mark off the brown stripe and painted the brown right on top of the tan color and it bled through and looked horrible...so I looked it up and found that if you put your tape up, you should repaint the color you are painting over in order to seal off any areas it would bleed and that way if it bleeds through, it will only be the same color, so I had to paint the tan color in my stripe first and then do the dark brown and it turned out nicely
