I know that weight gain questions can be wildly unpopular on this forum, so I apologize if it offends anyone, but I am just hoping to get a bit of perspective on my weight gain. I fear that I am gaining a bit too fast to stay within the targeted 25-35 pound gain (not under or overweight to start with).
I realize that everyone is different but would still love if people would be willing to share how much weight they have/had gained at the half-way (20 week) point. Thank you so much to those willing to share their experiences. Oh, and I tried to make this a poll but I couldn't get it to work for whatever reason - oh well!
Happy Friday and Happy Spring!
Re: Unpopular topic of weight gain (sorry!)...
I am and basically have been about a pound a week since week 16. I am currently 25 pounds at 26 weeks (and in trouble with my doctor--boooo!).
There are websites that can help you keep track, like babyfit.com.
I am up 4lbs as of Monday (which was 19wks) Doc says that I am a-ok
I'm not that far along yet but I'll be 18 weeks Sunday and I've gained 9 pounds so far. Sometimes it fluctuates though but it's usually between 8-9 pounds.
If you're gaining too much or too little they will tell you.

At my last dr. appt. I hadn't gained any weight but that is because I am a little overweight. I go again on Wed. and I think I have gained a couple of pounds. We will see.
I don't get why these posts get people so bent out of shape. The second you post, people flame away saying "you're pregnant- you're supposed to gain weight!" But the truth is, some of us are gaining more than we should and are worried about it and just needed to vent about it or ask for help or advice. So no worries here....sooooo not offended.
I am only 13 weeks and have gained 14 lbs. I lost a couple- I was up 16! Eeek. Anyway, my crazy appetite has settled a bit so I think it will be easier to keep it in check now and gain only the "recommended" weight the rest of the pregnancy- fingers and toes crossed on that one.
up 20lbs. at 20 weeks, already overweight....gained quickly in beginning, really dont want to put on 20 more but i guess we will have to see....
25 weeks and I've gained 20 pounds. I go by my home scale over the doctors. A- it shows I weigh less
), and B- I switched doctors at 20 weeks so I dont know how much the two offices scales varied.

Thank you all so much for your honest responses (and for no flames!). It is so interesting to hear how everyone's experience can be so different. I just realized that I should have probably shared my own experience in the original post - so here goes. I am just over 19 weeks and think I have gained about 14-15 lbs so far. My food choices have been relatively good but the quantity is more of the problem - I am always hungry
Thanks again!
since you asked nice...
17 lbs at 22 weeks
I'M ALMOST 20 WEEKS AND I'VE GAINED A TOTAL OF 5 POUNDS.
=]?
Me too! However, now i have a bagillion boxes of Girl Scout cookies that may change that quickly. Why are they so yummy?!?!
I'm not a doctor, but I don't think that is too much at all. ?From all the posts on here it seems pretty normal.?
20 weeks = I was up 21 lbs
Currently at 25 weeks = up 30 lbs. UGGGHHH!?

I just went today (22.5 weeks) and the dr told me that I'd gained too much weight since my last visit (7 lbs) buuuutttt....I've only gained a total of 11 lbs. So she just said, don't gain that much again between appoinments. I don't think it's the 11 lbs total she was worried about but the 7 lbs between visits. HTH!
Talk to your doctor though and see what their expectations are for you...
PS - Polls only work when you have a title for the post and message on the first page (even just a space or period will do) and then you have to have a title to the poll.
