Progesterone results... what do you think?

So, I had 2 B2B IUI's Sunday & Monday, and had my progesterone level checked today. They look for a level between 8 and 12, and mine was 3.8. I'm going to start taking additional progesterone, but am I totally screwed this cycle?

    I really don't know.  What is your doc's threshold for O?  A lot of doctors/labs use different scales for this but for my doc, anything under 6 is considered annovulatory.  At 7DPO they are happy with anything above that.

    What was your protocol this cycle?  If you triggered with a mature follie you should have O'ed and therefore your progesterone should be higher.

    Again, I don't know Hon.  This is very peculiar.

    Hang in there.  Let's hope it's just a glitch somewhere and the added progesterone will do it's  thing there.

    I just consulted with a friend who is very wise about the 'science' of IF and she's not worried... I'm only 3dpo. She said that she was tested once at 4dpo (same RE office/lab) and her level was 4.7 and she was fine.

    I just picked up my prometrium from the pharmacy and took the first one. I'm back to thinking optimistically!

    Oh okay.  You didn't mention you were only 3DPO.  That makes more sense now!  Smile Normal progesterone levels are taken at 7DPO - I just assumed.  That and I clearly can't count!

    Then I will ammend my first post.  You are still in the running!  GL!

    YAY!!!

     

    I have to say... even though IF sucks, I feel like it's so much better going through it this time b/c I know what to expect. I was always terrified the first time around, and I'm trying to let all of that go this time.

    I don't think it ever gets easier.  You just learn what to expect from the procedures so they aren't such a shockBig Smile

    Yes, I totally think you're fine since it's only 3dpo. 7dpo is the typical day to do progesterone. ?Good luck!

    I was wondering too why they tested you so early. That's odd. :)

    It seemed odd to me also... when I scheduled my IUI's with my nurse last week she told me that I'd come back at 7dpo for my progesterone check. But my RE did my IUI's and she looked at me like i had 3 heads when I told her what the nurse had told me and said that they do them much sooner than that. I'm fine with whatever, I just thought it was odd that I got 2 different answers!

     

    (For the record, this is the same RE that I worked with the first time, but they used to be associated with a local hospital and now they're associated with a big RE practice in NJ instead).
