D.C. Area Babies

omg, I'm going to be pregnant forever, aren't I?

I know that many of you can sympathize...

I just got back from my weekly check up and I haven't dilated anymore since last week--and that was less than a centimeter. And for some reason, my back has started hurting...and it was hot at hell in the doctor's office....and waaaaaaaaaaah!

(sorry, I just needed to whine)

anyway, suffice it to say, I'm still pregnant, nothing interesting to report here :-(

  • Your LO will be here before you know it, enjoy these last few days with your DH.  Lots of people I know went into labor on the weekend (I did on a Sat night), so maybe this is your weekend.
  • Loading the player...
  • maybe your back labor has started?

you will eventually have this baby but it's really hard in the end. Are you walking? Have some raspberry leaf tea (wegman's has it)

  • you are going to hate this, but have sex.  seriously, that's what the doctor told me at my 38 week appointment and i had little man 2 days later.  she said it really does work.
  • Sounds like he must be pretty comfortable in there! Is there a date when they will induce you if you don't go into labor before then?

I'm sorry - I know it must be no fun just sitting around waiting (especially while being totally uncomfortable). I hope he gets moving soon.

yes, they said that (barring any problems with the baby), they will induce on the 30th if I haven't had the baby by then. That just seems reeeeaaally far away right now!

Jeeze - I agree - that seems really far away! I definitely hope you don't have to wait that long.

  • Aw, I can certainly sympathize!  Considering the avg pregnancy is 41 weeks and 1 day, it can't be much longer!
  • I know the feeling! ?We got to the point where we almost felt like we weren't going to have a baby and went back to our normal lives! ?It will come soon, and believe it or not, 3 weeks after giving birth it feels like a lifetime ago that I was pregnant, and all those pregnancy aches and pains went away IMMEDIATELY. ?We can't wait to hear your little one is here!

  • I definitely understand! though I have started to dilate, it doesn't really mean much...I think the latest they'll let me go at this point is april 6th - so you're way ahead of me!
  • Hoping to offer some comfort. At 40 weeks 3 days (a Wednesday) went into the office because something wasn't feeling right. They checked me & baby out and everything was fine. I never had dilation. Was still very posterior, but softening. I had a scheduled induction for Friday for mild pre-e...doc said, "see you then". I went into labor on my own that night. I started timing contractions at 5:33 p.m. and DD was born at 1:50 a.m.?

Your LO will be here in the blink of an eye. Good luck.?
