At how many weeks do you get your 3d?

I thought they did them in the mid 30 weeks. My one friend just had one done today in her 28th week. My next appointment is at my 28th week and no one asked me if I wanted one at my last appointment. Is 28 weeks early and uncommon for this or was I supposed to ask them about it at my last appointment?

As far as I know, not every practice offers 3D. Has your dr said that they do?

I dont think everyone gets one.. I dont think** my Doc offers that.If we want to we will go on our own for that. We have done all of the other u/s obviously. but Im not sure all Docs do that. So around 30 weeks or so I would say we would go if we wanted to get one done. GL!

I'm not getting one. My anatomy u/s on Friday (woo hoo... less than 2 days) will be my last.

We paid to get ours done, but they wouldn't do it past 34w because there's less room for the baby to move around.?

Not every OB/GYN offers 3d and 4d u/s. If your OB has already done your anatomy u/s and hasn't made mention of a 3d, I would ask. Does your friend go to the same doctor that you do?

When I was at my 20 week appointment the tech switched it into 3D for a few minutes to try and get a look at her face but that was it. ?I'm pretty sure you usually have to go to a special place and pay for the 3D/4D ones.

I got 3D pics at the NT scan and at the 20 week scan.

After my big u/s at 18 weeks the tech said that everything looked great, and unless there was some issue I probably wouldn't need another one. I suppose I could request it, but I doubt insurance would cover it and I don't want it that badly.

My doc will not do it before 28w because he has had too many women "disappointed" that the baby is not more developed.

W/e!!!! I kinda want it later anyways though

I doubt I will get another U/S. My midwife hasn't indicated that I will and I don't believe they do 3D. Many ladies go to specialized places that do them for a fee.

When they printed the pictures for us they were in 3D. Which was nice, since all out others were regular. It came out pretty clear, but theres not much to see at the gestation. I would like to do another but until Im about 30 or so weeks.

Yes we both go to the same doctor.... and they def offer 3d/4d. She said she could actually see her picking her nose lol

I think it is $50 for a 15 min video and 5 or 10 pics (but he gives you more).... I think 50 bucks is worth it! They have more expensive ones that have longer videos and more pics... but the cheaper one is good for me.

I go for my glucose test tomorrow so hopefully I can schedule a 3d/4d asap before I can't anymore!

Part of my big U/S was 3d. It came standard. My big U/S was done at 19 weeks.

I got one at 20w, but I think it was because the US tech at my practice just got it and wanted to use her new "toy." I wasn't charged for it.

I get another one in the mid 30s--I want to say 34 weeks?

My doctor doesn't offer them. She will refer you to another clinic if it is something that needs to be done.

We are having one at a different OB and it is $100.00- thanks mom. When I scheduled it they said its best around 29 weeks when the baby still has some room. You will probably need to schedule it seperately and $50.00 is so worth it!

I have to pay for my 3D at a separate place. They suggested the best time for facial detail is 28-32 weeks (no later because after that the baby is too squished and can hardly move). I'm doing mine at 30.

My dr's office usually does them about 28wks give or take. But it's not a free service -- you have to pay. With DD, we had a great tech who gave us some 3D pics and 4D movies for free at our big u/s but this time around, the tech was not quite so generous. You can ask them about it but chances are you should be prepared to pay out of pocket.

It all depends on your Dr. We paid to get ours. I had it done at 17 weeks and my RE also did some at 12 weeks
