This is ridiculous, but I'm pregnant and my boyfriend says that i should not get the epidural because it's going to make me get "soo fat" and he's going to leave me if i get that fat.He said that with his second child the mother got extremely big and her doctor said that it might make her fat? My mom on the other hand says he doesn't know what he is talking about & that it's just like novocaine for the mouth. So is it true, does it make you fat?

And since I have time to kill...no an epidural will not make you fat. It's pain killer for cryin' out loud..it leaves you system sooner than later...it's just a short term drug. And find a new boyfriend stat..one with more than a 4th grade education, lessons in common sense and a lesson in good manners.

Yes. Yes it will make you fat, and your boyfriend will leave you to have children with someone else. Also, I hope you don't have a tattoo on your lower back, 'cause they can't do epidurals through those. You'll get some kind of ink infection and die.

No i don't have any tattoos, but are you being serious because one says that it will not make you fat and then here you are saying it's going to make me fat. Yeah this post may sound ridiculous to you guys. But I'm only 17 and I'm pregnant. Okay so I'm not coming on here to ask silly questions, even though it may be silly to you guys. Seriously though, no an epidural will not make you fat. It might make you bloated for a few hours but it will not make you fat. That's absolute ignorance on his part.

Maybe you should have thought about your age and being with a older controlling moron before you got yourself into this situation. I would t least recommend starting to get some books.. educate yourself. Talk to your doctor. Loose the moron. If he already has kids and is still that stupid ont he issue then there is your sign.
