I just joined WW online last night and am feeling a bit overwhelmed.. Any tips? I found out that I can have 20 points a day.... I'd like to lose some weight.. who knows.. maybe that will help with TTC.... TIA
Me! I gained a ton of weight TTC, joined WW and lost 30 lbs! I feel great about myself. I have another ~10 I would like to lose to be super hot, but I am so happy with the program. You just have to remember it is slow, but steady. Stick to the plan, you have to be disciplined, but it gives you enough leeway, you don't feel like you are going without. The website has tons and tons of delicious recipes. Start there and make your meal plans for the week, so you always have an idea of what you are eating and aren't stuck running out for takeout.
I am! So far I've lost 16.4 pounds in just under 8 weeks. The biggest problem that I have is with dining out; however, what I tend to do is to start my day off planning for what I want to have. If I want to have pizza that night, I start off with how many pieces I think I'll have and then move backwards and figure out what I can have for breakfast/lunch/snacks.
I definitely agree with the previous poster about going through your kitchen with a sharpie and labeling the things you'll be grabbing quickly. It saves time and you know what you can /can't have.
Another tool that you have at your disposal is your 35 weekly points. I don't think there has been a week that has gone by that I HAVEN'T used them.
It can be a little over whelming at first, but you have to give yourself a goal and keep telling yourself that you want that more than anything. For me, I want a baby more than I want to continue gaining weight -- that for me has been fundamental in sticking with this.
My first week, actually my first day, I went out and had McDonald's and was left with only 7 points for the rest of the day! From then on I learned that I really had to plan a lot better )
Good Luck with it! If you ever need someone to talk to about it, feel free to page me on here!

I swear by WW..... I think they have one of the most affordable and realistic plans out there. If you put your mind to it, it will work. DH and I have been doing WW since the end of Oct and we have lost a combined total of about 60lbs. I love to cook, but most of the WW cookbooks have recipes that do not have typical ingredients and that just steers me away. However, I did find a cookbook that I love...... It's called Hungry Girl and once you purchase the book (I got it on half.com for about $8), you can go on the website and it will tell you the WW points for each of the recipes. We have tried several of them and have not found one yet that we did not like. Best of luck to you in your weight loss endeavors.
I am. I just started recently. The first week I lost four pounds. I don't have a lot of tips since I'm so new to it. But I can tell you this:
* Every night, I sit down and plan out my food for the next day. I put it all in individual containers/bags. I then write it all down in my tracker. I make sure I figure out how many points the food is going to be too. This way I know exactly how I'm using my allowance and what I'm going to eat that day.
* I make sure to have breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner and finish the night with a serving of fat-free chocolate milk. By eating at those regular intervals, I never feel hungry. In fact there have been a few days that by dinner time, I'm sick of eating.
* Drink lots of water.
* Figure out what foods are low in points that you like and always keep them on hand. I have a fridge full of produce and a stocked pantry. This way I'm not tempted to just grab something that doesn't deserve my points.
* Use the e-tools.
* I'm a big sweets person. To help this out, I keep 100 calorie packs of my favorite treats. That way if a craving hits and I know fruit/fat-free yogurt aren't going to do, I can treat myself to those without eating 300+ calories from a candy bar. Sugar-free fat-free pudding also works.
Sorry this is so long. Best of luck in your journey!
