Parenting after a Loss

For those who have hardwood floors...

For starters..i HATE them! I much rather have carpet and vaccuum.

But anyway, what do you find cleans them the best? I have had them before but the other house was a lot smaller so it seemed to be much easier to keep them clean. With this house I feel once they are clean in 2 hours they are dirty again. Help.

  • I use a solution of water, vinegar & tea tree oil.

  • Sometimes I use vinegar and water and sometimes I use Murphy's wood oil soap....I like to switch off between the two.
  • I would much rather have HW than carpet :(   We actually paid extra for HW throughout the common spaces instead of carpet.

We use murphy's oil soap and microfiber cloths.

  • We also use a hardwood cleaner called Bruce which works great and leaves them shiny you can get it at Lowe's.
  • I used to use just vinegar and water but now we are using the Method O Mop (wood floor kit). It is awesome and so so so easy. My floors look cleaner and smell really good for much longer. You can buy it at Target (in the cleaning product section not with all the other mops and brooms) or if you have Lowes they sell all the Method products there. It is just under $30 for everything.

  • I wouldn't live up to my reputation as a vinegar pusher if I didn't answer this one!  We use VINEGAR and water!
