Ever since I weaned I've had two very hard knots/lumps in both breasts. I figured it was clogged ducts, but after repeated attempts at pumping, massage, warm compresses - you name it - and nothing has helped, I'm starting to wonder if it's something else. I have an OB appointment tomorrow and am admittedly a little nervous. While I don't think it's anything too serious, it is a bit disconcerting that these lumps aren't going away. It's been about a month now. I know I'm an idiot for waiting so long, but I honestly thought I had clogged ducts.
So, if you have had a lump in your breast, did you have to get a mammogram or some other test? Tell me what they did for you.
Re: Have you ever had a cyst/lump in your breast?
I had one. They did an ultrasound. Mine was a clogged duct and it went away pretty much the next day.
Good luck! And update us.
Yep, it's right near the areaolas on both breasts - the left lump is bigger than the right one.

I had one years ago so obviously not related to pumping. It grew to be about the size of an egg and was really hard and my skin was hot to the touch. They did an u/s and I had a mammogram and they determined that it was a fluid filled cyst. By the time they got me in for the mammogram it had shrunk so the treatment they did was to literally smoosh it out w/the mammogram machine. It HURT but it never came back...
G/L. I hope it's nothing serious!
