I had an ob appt this morning. The usual NST but then she also did a Strep B test (in case!) and checked my cervix the good ole-fashioned way and said, "You're at 1 cm..wait, no 2 cm."
Cue me looking scared. What the hell does that mean?! She says it doesn't really mean too much but the c-section we tentatively scheduled already may not mean anything either.
Yikes! Tell me, do I have reason to be scared or should I not really be too worried? I'll take it easier than I have been but geez, on bedrest and I'm already at 2 cm without noticing? I don't know what that means.
Re: so, does it mean anything to be 2 cm dilated?
I was 2cm 75% effaced for three weeks with dd and 2cm 50% effaced for two weeks with ds. So, it may or may not mean anything--just be ready... is your c-section scheduled?
BTW: you (kinda) BFP post is still one of my most favorite posts of all time--CONGRATULATIONS!!
I've only got one baby in me, but I've been 2 cm dilated since my 36 week appointment. Aside from awful period-like cramping and losing my mucous plug, I've had no other signs of labor. From what I've heard, you can walk around 2 cm dilated for weeks.
I'm trying so hard not to get my hopes up and think every little pain is the first sign of labor...but it's hard knowing you're already partially there!

Thank GOD! Ok, I'm not ready for these guys yet, so I am glad to hear it doesn't really mean anything to stress over. Good!
Ok, going to relax now and not worry.
thank you all!
p.s. yes, we have my c-section date scheduled! So crazy to know what day my boys may be born.
p.p.s. sundot, you are so sweet, thank you.
I'm happy to have gotten pregnant so that makes 2 of us. ha ha!
For me, no it didn't mean anything! I was 3 cm and 90% effaced for 3 1/2 weeks and didn't deliver until 3 days past my due date.
Is there a newfangled way to check now?! Because I'm totally going for that method.
Honestly, I sat around at 2 cm for weeks and weeks. For me it didn't mean much. For others it meant progress.
No worries---my doctors don't (didn't) even check since it is not a sign of anything other than your pregnancy is progressing.
your boys are staying tight for now.
When are you getting your c-section? Or do we have to guess?!
I bet you'll be happy to be off bedrest!
