...for some reason, I don't like this one: "Scout."
A woman I used to work with had a baby in September, her 3rd child, and named her Scout. The little girl is 6 months old now, but this has only been her name for 4 months. She was "Noa" before for 2 months, then her mom decided she didn't like that name and changed it...to Scout.
What's funny to me is that her older son is named Jacob. (Maybe she doesn't like common names anymore??)
(And yes, I read To Kill a Mockingbird. I know Scout is a real name. It's just NMS, and I felt the need to "say" it in a harmless forum.)
Re: I don't normally care about kid's names, but...
I looooooove the name Scout! I am a hater of all made-up and misspelled names (and if it's not spelled in the traditional way, I consider it made up).
I'm a teacher. It's hard enough to learn all the kids' names; I don't need to learn 33 ways to spell "Stephyny."
just curious- Does traditional = what you are used to, or traditional = traditional spelling in someone's culture? B/c a lot of names have more than one traditional spelling... some you just may not have seen before...I do agree though, random "Y's and I's are usually nms either.)
