How many feel that your house is always "guest ready" and you wouldn't mind guests stopping in at any time? What do you define as guest ready?
I am bored and curious since sleep doesn't seem to be something in my past OR future.
My answer: I think my house is always okay for guests to pop in. If I were having a dinner party or a social event, I would feel the need to do more deep cleaning type things that I only do every week or month (e.g., clean baseboards type of stuff).
Re: about your house...
I am a neat freak, so my house is always ready for company. That being said, I honestly don't mind if someone sees one dirty plate in the sink, and if my son's bedroom is messy, I just close the door.
Lately it's been clean around the clock though, because it's on the market, so if someone calls and wants to come see it, it has to be ready to do a walk-through.
we had a bathroom under construction for several months (finished around new years). Now we have the Nursery under construction. Walls have been torn down, holes cut in the ceiling to run wiring, dust everywhere.
small accumulation of baby stuff in boxes in the living room - since there isn't a room ready for it yet.
nope. not guest ready for a while. It's a mess.

My house is not guest ready..but even when I deep clean I never feel it is clean enough. In all honesty if I get a call that someone is stopping by it takes me less then 30 minutes to make it presentable and most of the time its presentable anyway..but its all in my head. My house is cleaner then most people that stop by anyway but I always want it magazine photoshoot ready.
Everyone tells me this will change when I have kids. Even when my 2 yo nephew lives with us for 6 months, I was still that way though..actually MORE so.
Oh pick me! I'll come! I won't judge. I just want to induce labor and cleaning can do the trick. I hear baseboards are the way to go!
This is me in a nutshell, but I like to think I'll be a little bit more easy going when we have kids...time will tell.
Ditto.
My house is almost always guest ready. Not spotless, and probably at times not what I would want just anyone to see but never bad enough that I wouldn't want someone to come in.
DH is pretty much a clean freak and can't stand clutter, so he's good about picking up after himself (and me). Our bedroom on the other hand is debateable, since I tend to use my dresser as a clothes hamper until I can't find what I want and then do laundry/organize! But hardly ever does anyone go in our room.
