They do not work! We got them to use on our dachshund, who hates to have his toenails touched, they didn't even trim them at all. We also tried them on out pit and they didn't do anything. If you want to try them, get them at Wal-mart, you can return them if they don't work. That's what we did and the lady there said they had a lot of them returned.
After the horror of PetSmarts hair dryer, yes I bought it. If you can get your dog used to it, it's a breeze. You aren't worried about getting to the quick because you can see it while it shaves off the nails. It isn't as fast as in the commercial because I'm paranoid and check constantly. A++
I'm interested to see the results of this question...We were "kindly" asked to leave a local groomers after our 2 year old beagle caused a "scene"! She hates having her nails done, but I think if we do it (she's more comfortable with us) it may work. She is a very nervous dog! But soooo darn cute!

Really? I used it on my Chi that hates you to touch her paw, let alone her toenails! Did you use enough force? I am a bit curious about why it didn't work.
after hearing negative reviews, we just bought a dremel. I don't know if it was any cheaper...but it does have other uses and has a stronger motor than the pedipaws one.
Our dog is the most skittish thing ever (ask Hippy or LOTR) and she sits just fine for the dremel.

Dremels work really well. This site gives a good description of how to get your dogs used to it. Our dogs don't mid cause we give them little pieces of chicken while we do it.

stupid bump posting.
I had to google but I saw the instructions on how to do that. I still think it's so large that my Chi would give herself a heart attack but it's something to look into.
