s/o "Smells that take you back to childhood"

What songs take you back?

I have a few that take me back to the swimming pool when I was a kid..."Fields of Gold" by Sting, because I always remember it being played over the loud speaker.

"Good" by Better than Ezra as well...I remember playing on the diving boards and hearing that song!

Clearly my summers revolved around the pool!!  I can only hope my little girl loves the water as much as I do!!  :-)

  • We were super strict baptist (couldn't wear pants even!) and couldn't listen to "mainstream" music or watch hardly any TV.  So all my songs from childhood are cheesy Christian music.  Until about jr high, then I started sneaking to friends houses and learning the ways of the real world :P

  • oh this is a good one! For me they are a lot of older songs that my parents were listneing too.

    Dirty Work by Stealy Dan

    Stevie B-Because I love you

    Blind Melon!

  • My DD is a fish...she turns into a burnt lil black girl over the summers, I cant keep her out the water! lol

Unfortunatly "Achey Breaky Heart" from Billy Ray Cyrus reminds me of the good ol days. My mother played it a thousand times when it came out and it reminds me of our house by the lake that we fished from and swam at. I was in 6th grade i think.

  • Anything by Debbie Gibson or Tiffany...which makes me think I am definitely one of the older ones here!  :)

  • I came for a house of very diverse music so here is a totally random list:

Patsy Cline Walking after midnight & Ronny Milsap Smokey MT Rain & Roseanne Cash Tennesse Flat Top box Mom used to dance with us to it.

The Temptations Mygirl, Dad would dance with me to that.

Songs that were just on the radio all the time; MJ Thriller(the video gave me nightmares for weeks!!), Carma Cameleon, Don't you want me baby(my favorite song when I was 5)

    Now I feel old.

  • Shout by Tears for Fears. It reminds me of driving to Wildwood NJ on vacation with my parents.

  • The song Crimson in Clover and anything Patsy Cline bring back early childhood memories.

Crimson in Clover played on the radio all the time when we were in the car with traveling with my Mom.

We always drove south for vacations so between the tunnels in PA and the mountains in NC there were no radio stations that came in so we would play Patsy Cline tapes all the time. I think my parents really hated Patsy Cline but my sister and would sing her songs at the top of our lungs. LOL
