3rd Trimester

Need some good wording...

what's a polite way of putting "no kids allowed" on a baby shower invitation? I hate saying it, but my mom is paying Per plate at my shower and there could be anywhere from 10-15 kids on top of an already 80-90 person invite list.

  • Address the envelope as Mr. and Mrs...etc.

usually if we want family or children we just put, Mr. and Mrs. so and so and family.

people usually go by what is written on the envelope.

  • We are doing the same thing for my friends bridal shower. We are putting Adult Shower on the invites.
  • Maybe something like 'we kindly request that this baby shower for X and X be an adults-only affair.'

  • I dont think there is a tactful way to put it.  Is she having people RSVP?  If so, she can just take care of it when/if anyone RSVPs with an extra.

LMAO! Ummm, not so much.....lots of clueless, classless people out there. (not saying your guests are like this, but those that bring their kids anyway also seem to be the ones who DON'T rsvp, either!)

    I would put "Adults Only".

Definitely!  I had like, 7 kids at my shower that their mothers just brought -- the kids names were absolutely not on the invitation, and we didn't even think of it since I couldn't imagine even thinking of bringing my children to a shower without a really good reason.

Really?  We have never had a problem with this.....but I take your word for it......there are all kinds of tactless rude people.
