Just a little background: When DS was in the hospital, I wasn't able to pump enough and my already low supply completley dried up so I started completley formula feeding about 2 weeks ago. I found out about relactation and have been working on re-establishing my supply for the past 4 days and it is really starting to come back (YAY!!). DS was bottled fed with pumped milk the majority of the time before it dried up but I'm trying to reestablish actual breastfeeding.
He has always latched right on as soon as I would put him to the breast even though it was few and far between. He even latched right on 4 days ago when I basically had no milk.
Well, now that I'm actually producing milk again (not yet enough for full feedings, but if I hook up to the pump it does spray, so I know there is at least a decent amount), he will not latch.
Any ideas on how to help him latch back on again? He doesn't even give it a try, just screams if I try to put him to the breast. (I try before feedings when he is starving as well as after feedings when he is still a slight bit hungry).
Re: XP: Help! He won't latch
Honey, I would call an LC or a LLL leader so you get help right away.
LLL help is definitely free and some LC's at hospitals will do free phone consults.

I hope you can get him to latch back on. Sounds like you're really trying. GL to you and keep us updated.
I would also recommend calling LLL. It sounds like you need some hands on help.
I have read elsewhere that if you feed him not until he is full or even super close to full, but you've taken the edge off of his hunger, you might have more success. He may have a bit more patience then and would be willing to work with you for a few more minutes to try to relatch.
Also, on the bottles make sure you're using the slowest flow nipples you can get your hands on so he has to work for his milk. Make sure you're using a nipple that is as close to a human nipple as possible. Because in your situation latching may be just the first problem. If he's used to a quicker flow or different nipple, you might get him to latch but find that he's frustrated at the effort he has to put in to get the milk and might not stay latched and suckling.
If you can't get him to latch, every drop of BM you can give him in a bottle is worth it so keep pumping!
