I am NOT ruining the suprise! (vent)

My staus on face book is "4 days and counting..." a VERY distant friend commented on it asking me "4 days until what?" I commented back telling her that was when we find out if we have a son or a daughter.

She comments back with this:   "Oh, you are ruining the surprise!!:) But good luck"

It's still a freaking suprise! I dont know why I am so irritated by this but I am. I havent commented back yet, any suggestions?

  • one of my friends told me in an email that I should keep it a surprise.   Umm, my decision.  And it was a surprise when we found out.

  • My cousin (who just had a baby two months ago) called me a cheater for finding on on facebook.
  • I get so irritated by that also.  I just don't respond.  It's not worth it.

  • Yeah, it is annoying. You really aren't ruining anything! This is one thing I will put money on- the day you deliver will still be AMAZING even if you knew the sex ahead of time. To each his (or her) own on when you find out!
  • I keep getting that too.  A guy at my job tries to talk me out of it like daily. Luckily it's MY baby and I get to make the decisions.

  • I don't care whether or not other people find out ahead of time if their baby is a boy or girl...but to me, it will be a surprise whenever we find out (hopefully March 30th!).  Not to mention, a lot of people who say "you're ruining the surprise" are the same ones who asked me IF we're finding out.  Ummm...don't even ask then.
  • I got that a lot too before I found out.  It's a personal choice.  I would never try to talk someone out of not finding out if that's what they wanted.  People need to mind their own business.
  • That is annoying. It is a personal couples decision to find out or not find out.
  • She gets a big fat FAIL!!! I don't know about her but for the 16 weeks that we didn't know what we were having, it sure was a HUGE SURPRISE to find out it was a boy..... Douche bag. Sorry - those kind of people just really irritate me.
  • It is a suprise the day of the ultra sound!
  • whenever you find out - then its a surprise. its not any less of a surprise to find out earlier.

and not for anything, but there are only 2 sexes - how much an effing surprise is it to begin with? There are only two ways its gonna turn out. Unless you should be surprised that its a human too??

LOL, Well if she asks me next week Ill tell her it turns out Im having a peacock so it was a huge suprise after all!

  • Blahblahblah...I hate when people do that. It's not like you don't have other things to look forward too, like what your baby looks like. The day you give birth is so completely special that I don't think knowing the sex makes it any less special.
  • Well, it should be a surprise....for her!  I say don't tell her, since she seems to intent on a surprise.

  • i agree, YOUR choice, and some people just don't how to keep their mouths shut!

we are getting so much crap for NOT finding out!  its just what we chose to do....

  • Arrgghh!  I hate it when people say this.  A lady at school said "no one wants to be surprised anymore" when I said that we were finding out.  Last time I checked I was surprised at the u/s appointment!  Unless someone is born knowing the sex of his/her future children, it's a surprise!  This is such a stupid argument against finding out.

Well, just so you know, those of us that are NOT finding out get the same sh!t from people.

"I hope you like your baby wearing yellow!" Uh yeah, b/c we won't be able to go shopping ever. My kid will be in yellow and green until he/she graduates high school b/c I'm not finding out.

"Oh, how can you wait?" I said no to the u/s tech. Now I have to wait.

I had one person tell me that my bond would be different with my baby. WTH? It's in my uterus squirming around. It's not like finding out allows you to play football with your little boy.

I think people are just too opinionated for their own good! Tell them to go away :o)

I TOTALLY agree! We are not finding out either and I've gotten a ton of shiit about it. "Well why in the world wouldn't you?" "It's a surprise either way, why would you wait til birth??"

And my personal favorite... "How will you plan??"  ummmmm, we're planning on a BABY. Whether it's pink of blue will be insignificant until it's here! Geesh.

  • I don't understand how people think it's "ruining" the surprise... it's still a surprise!! I will have had to wait 16 weeks... I call that a surprise!!
