SWING. Hands down. I hear it depends on the baby, but DD will not sleep or really hang out long in the bouncer. Her swing on the other hand is always good for entertaining her or lulling her while I jump in the shower.
We have the FIshers Price Natures Touch papasan looking one and love it because she can swing back and forth or side to side... she likes side to side so I am glad we got that one. There are a few that do that.
both...expensive, plug in the wall swing (i have fisher price), and cheap bouncer ($26.99 at target) for carrying around house, while you shower, and for travel to inlaws.
Swing! My little one loves the swing and it is great when you need 15 minutes to start dinner etc. My only word of advice is to try and find one that is a plug in. My friend's swing plugs in and mine runs on batteries. The batteries run out quickly and are $12.00 a pop for 4 DD.
Bouncer. DS is 11 weeks old and loves his bouncy for naps and play but hasn't taken to the swing yet. (I hear they start to like swings when they get older.)
We have a FP Hoppy Days bouncer. It was only $34.95 and, IMO, is better than the rainforest because it is cheaper and doesn't have the crazy amount of toys that the rainforest one has. I know, everyone loves the rainforest, but my DS would be overstimulated by that much stuff. I like to keep it simple and cheap!
The swing was great for the first few weeks. He would sleep in it for an hour or two. He was too small for this bouncer. When he was big enough to sit in the bouncer, he hated his swing and LOVED the bouncer, so I'm really glad we had both. Right now, the bouncer he still loves. The swing we could definitely live without, we use it MAYBE 5 minutes a day.
Re: Poll: swing or bouncer
She only liked the bouncer and not the swing for the first two months, now she likes both, plays in bouncer, naps in swing.
Babies are picky, get both.
We have the rainforrest bouncer and a gracco swing

I agree with this. Also my DS seems to like the bouncer more consistently than the swing, which goes in phases
