2nd Trimester

Is it okay to use used spoons and forks?

The mom that I work for gave me a baggy of spoons and forks that the twins used that they don't use anymore.  I graciously accepted them, but now that I am looking at spoons they have teeth marks on them and I am just not sure if I want these things used... Spoons and forks are cheap so it's not like I can't buy them...

  • It would probably be OK if they were in good shape, but I was not one for used utensils or bottles with DD.  Those were just things I preferred new.

  • I'd use them as long as there aren't pieces falling off and they are in decent shape.

  • They aren't too bad, but they aren't in as good of shape as I originally thought, esspecially b/c a couple of the spoon/fork sets I never saw the kids use.
  • I read the title of your post and thought, "OMG. If some idiot is asking if they're allowed to use forks while pregnant I'm going to stab my own eyes out. " Hahahaha.

LOL.  I did the same freaking thing.  I was running a quick list of alternatives.  Here's what I came up with: chopsticks, sporks, and fingers.

Same here. I would just get new ones.

  • I would prefer new ones, esp. when you say they have teeth marks. I imagine bacteria might get into those marks, and they may be hard to completely sterilize.

Eh, I think if you boil them you should be fine. But like the OP said... not like they're going to be what breaks the bank anyway if you go ahead and buy new.
