Yeast Infection in baby's neck?

DS has a sore/yukky looking area in one of the folds of his neck and after some internet research I think I've discovered it's a yeast infection. Have you experienced this? How did you treat it and was it self-diagnosed/treated or did you consult the pedi?

yup dd gets it all the time because her neck has a million rolls!! I called the nurse and they told me to use lomitrin (sp?) so i just used that 3 times a day... make sure you keep her neck very dry and clean

Seasoul my sister's baby girl used to get this - I forget how she treated it - she might have used gentian violet. I would call pedi - I think there are safe OTC anti-fungals you can use - pedi might even tell you to use monistat. The other thing to do is just keep those baby fat neck folds clean and as dry as possible. And you should take a probiotic like culturelle so you make sure you are passing plenty of good probiotic good stuff along to your little guy in your breastmilk.
