Peeing out of diaper at night

DS has been sleeping on his stomach now that he's no longer swaddled. Problem is, he is peeing out of his diaper, up his front, almost every night. He did it last night even with a Huggies Overnite diaper AND a diaper doubler in it. (I wasted one of the last few disposable diaper doublers I was hoarding away too, sigh.)

I'm remembering to point him down and everything. I don't know what else could be the problem -- should I be securing the diaper a lot tighter at night? I doubt he's out of 3s already - he's only about 18 pounds.

He STTN 3 nights this week - I'm not about to start waking him during the night to change his diaper!

  • Maybe it's time to move up to the next diaper size?

  • My DS is the exact same, I also put him in a "sleep sac" at night and he flips on to his belly to sleep. and like your DS he sttn and I'm not about to wake him either. I used "Pampers Dry" but I found he leaked though them during the night. Last night I tired Pampers Crusiers and they seamed to work so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My DS is also in a size 3. I don't think upping the size would work for DS either. It's a pain though because I have to wash everything but last night was great no leaks.

    GOOD LUCK!

  • Also, I've found that Luvs diapers hold the most insane amount of pee. They're cheap, so maybe try those for overnight?

  • I wish I had advice- DS pees through eveyr single night- and it isnt just a little- he is soaked from his shoulder to his knee, so I have to change him. Plus he is usually in my bed at that point, so I am wet too!  I have tried cruisers and the huggies overnights- he leaked through both.

From PP I am going to give the Luvs a try- I have heard that they are cheap.  Also I posted this once and someone mentioned trying a maxi pad across the  inside top of the diaper.  I have not tried that yet, but who knows- it may be worth a shot!  Good luck!

  • My only suggestion is to move up a size at night ~ it's worked for us!
