RP 0-6 - Hair Loss Question

I posted this on 0-6, but since the problem didn't start til I was 3 1/2 mos pp I know that a lot of those ladies aren't that far along and won't be able to help. I appreciate any input you gals have! tia

hey ladies. i know they say you lose your hair after pg but i didn't - well not at first. it didn't happen til about a month ago (3 1/2 mos post partum) and won't stop. what are your experiences with this? i'm trying to decide if this is normal or if i need to call the doctor. i don't want to lose all my hair! i'm also wondering if the beginning of the hair loss coincides with when i started the mini-pill..... thanks gals.

    It's normal and we all go through it. It does not warrant a call to the doctor. I think mine may have slowed down some in the past month. Either that or I got used to it.

    I think mine started at about 2 months pp, and didn't stop until 6 months.  It was ridiculous amounts, but it stopped and is even growing back some.

    Mine started about 3 mos pp and has just started slowing down in recent weeks... it's still coming out quite a bit just not in big handfuls anymore.

    Yeah my hair was falling horribly until about 3 or 4 weeks ago and it just stopped one day.  Now I have tons of new growth sticking out all over and I can't get it to lay down.  My hair is a mess right now.

    thanks ladies. i'd expected it to start right away, so when i didn't i thought maybe i'd missed that part and would escape with my hair intact! glad to know this is common.?

    I noticed mine falling out after I went back to work, so after 4 months.  It wasn't in chunks, so I am sure I just didn't notice the beginning of it.  I started noticing how much would be in the drain when I finished showering and then even more would go flying when I blow-dried my hair.  Then last night I noticed that it has gone back to my usually shedding amount.

    It started for me around 3 months pp too and probably slowed down (although perhaps I'm just used to it like pp mentioned) around 7 or 8 months.  It sucks too because at this point I have little 'baby' hairs growing where it all fell out before.  Ugh...the joys of motherhood!  ;)

    same here, mine started to fall out around 2 or 3 mos & stopped around 6 or 7mos.  I did read either in a book or magazine that it's 100% normal & that it usually stops around 6mos because that's when your body starts getting back to normal.  It has to do with all the hormonal changes. oh the joys :)
