How many children do you want?

I'll start. DH feels very strongly that we should only "replace ourselves in the population" so as not to contribute to over-population and environmental burden. I certainly see his point of view, and also agree for financial reasons.

BUT we both come from families where the kids out number the parents and I LOVE the chemistry and the bantering and the huge holidays. So if we're just dreaming, I want three.

hmm We will take as many as we are blessed with, right now 1 child would be amazing. If we had our way maybe 3-4?

i agree with you. there are 4 of us kids in my family...and i've just loved it. the holidays, vacations..etc..etc

i'd love to have at least 3-4. DH says 2-3.

Ideally we'd love 3, though we might be willing to stop at 2 if we get a girl and a boy.

i think we are aiming for 3. sometimes i downsize to 2, sometimes i still like the idea of 3. i tell dh let's have 2 and then we can talk again.

I want 2, DH wants 3. I have my DS already, and am pg now, so if this bean sticks, I just may be done! If I have another boy I might rethink about trying again for a girl, but I don't know...I think I still want only 2, even if they are both boys.

If our first is a boy (we have DH's son already) we will try one more time for a girl. But if our first is a girl, we'll be done at 2. So somewhere between 2 and 3. I grew up in a family of 8 children and as much as I loved it, I couldn't do it myself.

We're both pretty settled on 2 - we prefer not to be outnumbered. My brother has 5 kids, so he has taken up the slack for the rest of us.

At this moment, I just pray for ONE healthy baby!! But in the long-run I would love to have 4 to 6 children---DH as set the MAX at 6 (there are 6 kids in his family).
