We did JCP pics for Christmas & I really didn't like them. We are actually going this weekend to have a real photographer do some stuff outside. I can't believe I've waited this long!
We haven't yet, but are finally doing some in 2 weeks for DD's 1st b-day. I've taken them myself each month, but thought it was time to get some professional ones.
We haven't. I got semi-motivated and was going to schedule 6-month pictures, but then a photographer suggested I wait until DS is sitting independently because they usually turn out better (in his opinion). So I'm still waiting.
It's my gift to myself for their 1st bday. We invested in a really good camera when the boys were born - they're lives have been well documented but I do feel like I missed out on a rite of passage. Looking to book for their 1st bday
If it makes you feel better, the ONLY reason I did them was for everyone's Christmas gifts. Everybody got a nice framed formal pic of K, nothing else. Saved me a crapload of $$ on gifts and everyone loved them too
We got some done with his cousins for a christmas present but haven't gotten any we really like. We kept meaning to and now we're trying to move and are saving every penny for that. Hopefully for his birthday.

We hopefully will for her 1st. I'm not worried though. We have plenty of DIY photo sessions to document her growth and change. I'm a picture taking fool.

We waited a while to do them - I had them done in the fall, so I could use them for Christmas cards. Ben was about 7 months old at the time. We hired a photographer & we spent an afternoon downtown taking pictures (and then another afternoon in her studio).
It's addictive, though - I've already talked to her about coming to take pictures for his birthday party in a few weeks, and I'm hoping to get some new family pictures taken this summer.
Me! I have taken her to get some pictures with Santa but that was a huge FAIL. I really need to get on the ball and do some sort of professional pictures.
Re: Anyone else not do professional pics yet?
Not I. My weird MIL wants to have "family" prof pics taken of DH & I, DD, her & FIL. Whatever.
Shutterfly works better for me.
May 2011 Siggy Challenge

Same here. My mom said she would spring for Easter pics though, so if she remembers, then we can have some done.
BW - I'm stealing your melamine siggy. I too proudly offer my son poison several times a day.
