I've tried it all but this winter is kicking my dry skin. After my shower this afternoon, I put on my very expensive Bobbie Brown moisturizer. That worked for all of an hour...I need something that lasts all day.
I use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisterizing Lotion - I would never use anything else! I have sensitive skin and have problems finding products that work but don't make me break out or feel greasy. Lasts all day. Be careful though - they also make a DDM Gel that looks exactly the same but is heavy and greasy.
Cetaphil makes a good daily moisturizer, then I use a special intensive one they have on super dry spots during the winter. I can't remember the name of it, but I'm pretty sure they have just a couple to choose from.
Any of the Jan Marini products are really, really good. I get it from a plastic surgeon but, I'm sure you can get it online. I use the C-Esta cream and it does a great job of exfoliating as well. I really recommend it.

Do you use any body oil? As soon as I turn off the shower, I put on a Nivea body oil (all over) and then blot my skin dry with a towel. Then I use Nivea lotion. I am originially from Minnesota where the winters are bruttal and have terribly dry skin. My legs, arms, and even my stomach get all flaky and scaley! The oil seems to make all the difference for me.
I love the stuff I use. I get it at Kohls and it smells and feels soooo good! It's Grassroots Pomegranate Super Antioxidant Cream. It's $30 but VERY worth it. And I am picky. The first time you use it it exfoliates your face and makes it amazingly smooth and soft and very well hydrated.
Also don't be afraid to buy moisturizers that are NOT oil free. Water technically does not penetrate the skin but oils do, leaving you much more hydrated and less likely needing to re-apply.
