and if they pee and poo in the backyard, what are you gonna do, or what do you do, when DC is out there crawling around? Obviously pick up the sh!t, but what about the pee? Or do you just say oh well? Man I so wish I trained them to go in one spot!
I actually have DS play in the front yard rather than the backyard. He likes to watch the cars drive by and the people walking around. Then I don't have to worry about him playing in excrement.
But, by the time we really get to playing outside, he'll probably be walking, so this won't be as much of an issue.
We will shovel the poo. As far as urine...my 2 big dogs are males and usually go on trees. I can't see it being any worse than taking you LO to the park and letting them play in the grass.
Luckily our dog poops and pees off the actual yard, but all dirt is poop. The majority of soil is fecal matter and decaying stuff, so even if you protect your kid from your own dog's poop, they will likely be playing in some other being's poop.
She plays in the front. So far she HATES the grass, so it's a non-issue.
We'll be moving sometime soon I hope, and I'm hoping we have enough space to make a dog area and a baby area. Right now our backyard is bad. The dogs dig and we don't pick up poop.
