Babies: 9 - 12 Months

How long to wear onesies?

In DS's daycare, very few of the babies above 6 months still wear onesies -- it's shirts and pants that look like "big boy" clothes. I love having a "baby" though, and I'm going to put him in onesies, legwarmers, bright colors, etc. until I can't get away with it anymore!

How long are you putting your baby in onesies rather than shirts? Do they still make them above 12 months?

Re: How long to wear onesies?

  • it's cold here in vermont and henry will wear an undershirt onesie for a loooooong time. we have both onesie shirts and regular shirts that we  use. i think whatever works best for you is great. and yes, they make them up to size 36months (that ive seen).

  • they most certainly DO make them up to 3T actually. we still have onesies for dd1 bc she sleeps in them and its one of the only things that she rarely takes off in her bed. she usually gets naked with regular pj's. and its hot here - so dd2 still wears onesies to bed sometimes.
  • I may put a shirt and pants on DS but I alwys put a short sleeve onsie on underneath to keep him belly covered. My SIL did this until my nephew was  year old. In the summer I am not going to do it and i may even do it once the fall hits as well.

  • I still prefer the onesie type shirts, I think his belly looks cold in the big boy shirts.
  • Ben is a year old and still wears a onesie every day.  I will continue until it warms up here and then that will probably be it for them.
  • Heck.....sometimes I wish they made them for 37 year old women!  Some shirts just won't stay tucked in!!!
