Re: Poll: If you've flown re: birth certificate

  • We flew to Vegas over the holidays and was never asked for the certificate at either Ohare or McCarran airports.Which I honestly think is a little scary.

  • I voted no, but DD flies with her passport. ?Honestly I really suggest getting your LO a passport, it has their picture on it and you never know what that will come in handy.
  • I didn't vote because I'm flying for the first time next week. I was told to bring either a birth certificate OR his shot records book.

  • The first time we flew, they asked for it but he was really little and I didn't have it yet. They didn't have a problem with it. We just flew now and I had it with me but they said they didn't need to see it. The most important thing is to have DC's name added before you fly - just call in and give them the details and they mark your name letting the agents know you have an infant with you.
  • We've flown several times with both kids and they've never asked for a birth cert. Ever. We've always brought them, though, just in case.

Although, we started buying DD her own seat as soon as she was 2 (the age in which they're required to have their own seat), so there would be no point in them asking for proof of age since the only reason they'd need it would be to prove she was under age 2 as a lap child.

  • We've flown 4 times.  They only asked for it once and that was because it was an infant fare on Southwest.
  • Wow i guess i am just using the right airports because I have flown 3 times with DD and am always asked for your birth cert. I have flown out of Columbus and Charleston (WV) and Ohare. They always asked.
