Dear Bump Gods (re: board name change)

Can we get a board title change here please? To something like "TTC" or "trying to get pregnant"? The whole "Getting Pregnant" thing isn't really working for us.

Plus, the other TTC boards are actually called TTC (insert rest of title here), why do we get something different?

Yeah, just to add the "trying" part in there. It'll probably cut back on a lot of the stuff that comes around on both boards that are better for the already got pregnant boards

I personally think it should be Getting PRegnant because not everyone here is still TTC they are pregnant and hell this board is known as GP so why change it.

Are you talking about all the AW's and drive by's? You are going to get those no matter what the board is called.

And does this mean you'd like all the 'GP Mamas' to move along as well?

It would be nice not to have 2 boards with the same name. I got stuck once on the Nest GP and it felt like a new land.

Seriously, too much reading into this. No, the GP Mama's and TTAs and the others can stay. I'm talking about the posts that we get talking about asking about symptoms and stuff to a board of women TTC - or better yet, see the other GP nest board or even go back and read what happened in the posts over the night.

The gals who were on last night know what I'm talking about.

I always thought that "babies on the brain" was a step below us, meaning women who are thinking about TTC go there before venturing over the GP. The "GP mamas" were the ones that were GPers that had found success while attending this board. They should stay and give advice and lift spirits when needed(we all need a little hope) The name "Getting Pregnant" is fine by me I just wish when we minimized it would say somthing different like GP.

A name change isn't going to stop the drive bys. Nor the first-time posters who refuse to lurk. It's the nature of online boards. TTC6+ gets drive bys for crying out loud. As heartless as it is, I bet even TTTC gets them.

I saw your first post, I hope you didn't think I wasn't ignoring it. I mean, you never know. I've seen board names change on the knot a few years ago and it did make a difference for those boards.

One I think FLo's comment was very valid and spot on.

Two, you think drive bys and stupid questions are bad now Just WAIT until you change the board name to "Trying" anything...freaks will crawl out of the woodwork..

No matter what the name is, its going to happen. Why even consider changing the name based on such a minute issue? Its not like you have been here forever so why change something that we are all fine with and when we leave, everyone else here in years to come will be fine with it too.. Its just name...Like If suddenly changed your name, would that make you an new person? No, same *** different day

Now, if I said that we need to kick out all the TTAs and all the KU'd chicks and all the miscellanous chicks out, I'd understand the arguments. But I'm not saying that.

I'm just saying that maybe changing the board name, will help some folks realize that this board isn't exactly the right board to post "how did you know you were KU" or "how are you handling working and taking care of a newborn" (we got that one some weeks ago on the GP nest) or something along those lines when they could get a better response on one of the trimester boards or baby 0-whatever age group. That's what I'm talking about, moreso than the drive-bys.

Changing the name is Still not going to end those types of posts. Thats the point. Every board has posts like that besides probably baby names or nutrition but thats it. And why change something that most of us are really comfortable with already.

It's just my idea that might make a little bit of a difference. I mean we dont know. It could and it could not. I know that there are dumb people that would still post. Just an idea.

And it's not like the bump gods are going to change it all of a sudden.
