I was on the phone w/ my parents and Ethan was, I thought, talking to the kitties in the dining room. When I got off the phone and went to him, he smelled every so florally delicious. Because he'd been taste-testing my Oil of Olay bodywash.?
All I have to say is, I am going totally organic from here on in. When I read the list of ingredients to the woman on the phone at Poison Control, not only could I barely pronounce 90% of what goes into it, but the last ingredient has the word CYANIDE in it. Are you f'ing kidding me????!!!!?
Anyway, "give him lots of water and keep him awake for a couple hours to make sure any alcohol is out of his system" OMG, I am a horrible mother!!! Totally chit-chatting on the phone while Ethan mixes himself a body wash cocktail in the dining room. I'm mortified. I think he probably only had a little tiny bit (he said it tasted horrible, so I'm doubting he ingested a ton), but still.....my poor little bean.
Re: No longer a Poison Control virgin...
(((hugs))) Almost every mother I know has had to call PC. I had to call when Kate was a toddler and I found her sucking on a tube of toothpaste.
The Burts Bees stuff is pretty good if you're looking for more natural ingredients!
I'm a pharmacist and I've called. When I did my rotation through PC in school, 95% of my calls were from moms. It's amazing how fast they can get into something.
And yeah, those ingredients are scary sounding.
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
My DD choked on an apple at a party in front of 30 people. I started beating on her after a person across the room noticed because I didn't (she was sitting on my lap). The part that was horrifying was that she had just come upstairs with the apple slices, which she had been eating alone with another little kid.
She also got out of the car once into traffic while I was feeding the meter. I didn't even know she could get out of the car seat by herself, much less, open the door and close it back. Thankfully, someone driving slowly by on the very busy street yelled at me and made sure I understood what had happened.
Harry ate my Lancome Renergie moisturizer once-- I freaked, but the label said if ingested drink water, and all the ingredients were natural. ?And very expensive, the little jerk.
?
Glad he's okay!!! ?How scary!?
I am so jinxing (?) myself . . . I have yet to call PC. I thought about it once when I thought my son ate some dry wall compund.

Is it bad that I'm laughing at "body wash cocktail"? I mean, that's funny!
But, I"m sorry you had to call poison control and I'm sure he will be fine.
but this DOES ruin your chances of using soap to wash his mouth out for saying bad words, you know! (KIDDING!)
