There's a playground about a block from our house where Finn and I used to go every day. I haven't taken him on the days I have the kids by myself because I've thought the weather was too cold for the baby. It's 70 degrees today, so I thought, what the heck. I put the carseat in the stroller and had Finn walk beside me. Getting there was great. The first half of the time we were at the playground was great. But then the wind picked up and the baby started fussing, so I told Finn it was time to go. Disaster. He threw a fit and went boneless on me when I tried to lead him away from the slide. Then he kept stepping off the curb into the street as we were walking home, just to let me know how mad at me he was. (He knows perfectly well he is not allowed to do that.) Then when we got to our front porch and as soon as I lifted Clay out of the carseat, Finn ran away from me into the neighbor's yard, turned into Jelly Boy again, and screamed bloody murder when I finally snagged him around the waist and hauled him into the house (with the baby slung over my other shoulder, also wailing.). So embarrassing. I'm just hoping none of my neighbors were home for that little show. Guess next time I'll be breaking out the double's kit so that I can just strap them both in and make a quick getaway!
Re: 2 kids to the park = FAIL.
1. i am jealous that wherever you are it is 70. ?
2. this is exactly why having 2 children scares the crap out of me. ?
3. i am sorry you had to deal with F's tantrum.... although i find it slightly funny that he had to show you how mad he was by walking in the street, albeit not safe, but kind of funny.?

I CAN SYMPATHIZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last week I went to a park and DD, who is going through the horrible 2 year old "everything is mine" phase, lost her sh*t on a little girl who wanted in the fire truck with her. Well, DD hauled off an smacked the little girl across the face!!!! I was nursing #2 on the bench, and had to sprint across the play yard with baby on the boob, blanket flapping in the breeze (I can only imagine how many children inadvertently saw my boob), only to have her go boneless when I told her to say "sorry" and we had to leave.
I was MORTIFIED and if I hadn't been actively nursing #2, I would have pretended I was their nanny...
I called my DH crying. What a nightmare.
Yes. I almost wish I had this little episode on YouTube so that I could post a link every time someone says "I will NEVER put one of those horrible harnesses on MY child!"
OMG, thank you, I so needed that. I have tears in my eyes from laughing. I'm so, so sorry that happened to you, but that story is FUNNY. I'm feeling much less alone now.
OMG. That's awful. What a day.
