Newbie with a question: Clomid

Hi everyone, DH and I have been TTC since 2/08. My OB is putting me on Clomid (50mg) starting next cycle. I have read about the mood swings, hot flashes, bloat, etc. But how many of you experienced weight gain? If so, is it due to bloat or or you just hungry and have cravings? I would like to keep my body healthy and I work out 5 days/week but just trying to be prepared if weght gain is on the way with Clomid. Thanks!

I didn't experience bloat or weight gain. 50mg is a low dose, so maybe you experience less symptoms at that dose. Not sure.

I haven't gained any weight from my first cycle of Clomid..........yet.

I am on my 3rd round of 50mg Clomid. The only side effects I have are hot flashes and mood swings (which my husband loves!). So far no weight gain. GL!

I don't know about the weight gain, but just wanted to make sure you are aware that if Clomid works, you'll get pregnant and that is known to gain weight.

I know it's not what you meant, but it sounds like you have good, healthy habits already and you should really focus keeping those up and not so much about the weight gain itself. Which is true when you get pregnant as well.

I haven't noticed any weight gain, but definitely hot flashes.

I didn't experience many of s/e (I took it at night) but I did experience both weight gain and bloating. Prior to starting treatment I worked out six days/week pretty intensely and have since cut back so that could be part of the reason why I have gained weight. I know a lot of people complain about the s/e of clomid but I found taking it at night really helped. Good luck!

I did not have any weight gain and this was my first month of clomid on 50mg. I took it before bed and I really did not experience many side effects. There was only one day I feel a little emotional/hormonal.

I was on Clomid and never ovulated. I did get hot flashes and was kind of moody. I had a lot of bloat, but drinking water helped. GL!

I have had weight gain. I am 5'1 and was in good shape before, I have gained a lot of weight and I work out 6 days a week. I also get hot flashes and mood swings, headaches

My advice is go to the RE. I love my OB, but i feel like I have wasted time by not going to an RE. My first RE appointment is next week.

I am in my first cycle with Clomid, and I haven't had any weight gain. On the last three doses I was horribly moody though. GL!

I gained quite a bit of weight but didn't realize it until the last month or so when everyone said "You have lost some weight!" I didn't eat more or anything so I'm thinking it was because I was bloated all the time.
