Pampers Swaddlers Size N or 1??

I am trying to gradually stockpile diapers throughout my pregnancy so I have a little stash built up and I am going with the pampers swaddlers. It says Newborn size is up to 10 lbs. but then Size 1 is 8-14 lbs. so , are the size 1 smaller than the N or no? I am assuming I should have some newborn ones or should i go all size 1 since they start out at 8 lbs? Thanks!!

    DD wore newborns until she was about 9lbs.  I went to size ones at that point.  She would not have fit in the ones at birth.  She was 7lbs even.

    I would not buy a lot of newborn because you do not know what size your child will be.  We ended up needing some newborn diapers because DS was 7 lbs 7 oz when he was born.

    I would have at least one package of newborns. ?We are still in them and DS is 9 1/2 pounds. ?He could wear size 1s now, but he still fits and we haven't had any diaper blowouts. ?There is no way size 1s would have worked for us when DS was born at 7 lbs. 4 oz. ?I though at the time that even the newborns were kinda big. ?

    I wouldn't stockpile on diapers..you LO may have a reaction to them.  Instead, get a gift card each time you go out

     

    But DS was almost 10lbs, so he was in 1's very quickly

    We didnt personally buy any diapers before DD was born.  Instead we bought gift cards from places where we would buy diapers.  Everytime one of us got paid we would put $25 on a giftcard.  That way we will have the money to just buy whatever size we need.  DD is just a little over 2 months and we are still using the stash that people have bought us.  Sorry, I know thats not really answering your question, but just an idea :)

    We went thru quite a bit of Newborn packages. DD was 7 lbs 9 oz at birth. I was amazed how many diapers you really do go thru!

    my baby was 8lbs 4 oz at birth and we used the newborns for about 3 weeks then had to move up to the 1s. The size 1s were too big at first.

    Liam was 7 lbs 2 oz at birth. He wore the N size until he was almost 10 pounds, at about 6-7 weeks. if i were you, i'd get at least one package of each, but not open them. that way if your baby's really big, you can return the N size if they're too small. i wouldn't stockpile too many...

    This is great advice. ?Get the generic visa or mc ones so you can use them anywhere: target, grocery store, etc. ?Get one pack of NB and one size 1's closer to your due date to have when you get home. ?Keep the receipt just in case your LO is a bigger baby. ?Then you can return them if need be. ?

    both C and J were in NB until 9lb. J is out of 1's at 10.5 pounds. Both were in 1's for less than 3 weeks (J for only 1)

    Do yourself a huge favor and do not stockpile.

    Newborn is smaller than 1, but the lbs aren't exactly right.  My 9 lb baby wore NB size for two weeks. 

    This is C&P from my response to the post below:

    We use 7-8 diapers per day and a pack of wipes last a little over a week.  I wouldn't stock up too much, though because you don't know what size your LO will wear or what brand will work best.  Instead, get a gift card for the store you plan to purchase them at and add a little money to it each time you would stack up on diapers.  Then you can use the gift card whenever you need to buy diapers.

    We have been using 1 pretty much from the begining. DS was 9 lbs 14 oz. NB fit, but were  pretty snug, we switch to 1 and they fit much better.

    You need to have some Newborn sizes around. DD was 6lbs 8oz when she was born (full term) and wore newborn size diapers for the first month. And the first couple weeks we were going through 10 diapers a day.

    The size 1 would be huge on my baby right now and he's almost 8 lbs at 2 weeks.  The newborn size fits great and I expect he will be in it for at least another couple of weeks.  I only had one pack of newborn on hand because I figured they would be too tiny.....just goes to show you never know until baby arrives.
