Recommend your NON BRITAX convertible carseat

We are shopping for another convertible car seat for Jayden to use in my car. We currently have an Omega carseat (one of the smaller ones) and I don't see him being in that seat for much longer b/c he's getting so tall. I know Britax is highly recommended here and I was thinking of ordering one from Albee Baby for $159, but I'm sure there are other brands that are just as good as Britax.

  • Ours is the AlphaSport something.  It is from 25 lbs to 100 lbs as it goes from 5 point harness convertible seat to high back booster seat.  On a side note, Jayden's eyes are BEAUTIFUL!

  • Thanks!! His eyes are one of his best features! Strangers comment on them all the time! They say he has the brightest eyes, almost angelic =)

  • We have the Evenflo Triumph Advance for DD#2. We like it and DD loves it. She's a big baby and she's rear-facing at 13 months very comfortably. The chest clip is kind of a pain sometimes, but it's not a big enough deal to make me not like it. It's big, but so are my kids. :-) It fits just fine in our Honda CR-V.
  • I just DD a Britax Frontier and a Graco Nautalus they both are convertable seats that go to booster seats with weight limits of 100 pounds. DD is really tall and she will not outgrow these seats! The Graco is much better in price, but is harder than the Britax to install, and  DD says the Britax is more comfortable. I like them both and they both have cup holders which is a bonus. The Graco is on sale at Target this week for $159.
  • We have the FP Safe Voyage (which is made by Britax if I remember right?) for my car & love it.  Got it from Albeebaby.com for $129, free shipping.  For DH's car we have the cheapo $45 Cosco Scenera & I hate it!  We don't use his car often, but I'm still going to replace the seat.  It just feels cheap & uncomfortable, and it's really hard to adjust the straps.  I think I'm going to get the graco comfortsport, which is $80ish I think.

  • I have a britax roundabout and a true fit (first years).  I actually prefer the true fit.  It is an awesome carseat.  There is a ton of padding and it is so easy to install.  I got it from Target fot 179.99-it is worth the money
  • DS has an Evenflo and we really like easy to use and install and I believe it is very safe.

DD has a Graco and I feel the same way, I went with Graco for her B/C of color I wanted her to have a girly seat. I went for safety first (duh) and felt both Graco and Evenflo were about the same.
