  • I don't have my drug list in front of me, but the first thing I would try would be a salt water gargle for the throat and a steam shower for the cough.

  • You can't really take anything for this however, having just made it through a month of two colds...

Boil some water. You will need an actual lemon. Cut in half. Squeeze the half lemon into the boiling water and then scrape out the half into the same cup because the pulp has magically healing properties. You can had a tablespoon of honey. Honey is a naturopathic remedy for throat ailments.

This helps tremendous. I also found that a tablespoon of honey on it's own really helped.?

I was just about to recommend this!

  • Totally saved my life and it cured my cough faster than regular medicine would have!

I'm a former chronic sufferer of tonsillitis. I cured it naturopathically by using Cat's Claw - Una Da Gotto and avoiding traditional western medicines. I used to get it 4-6 times a year and have not had it in almost ten years. Never ceases to amaze me.?

  • Now time to wake DH up and send him to the store...thanks ladies...being honest, I'm miserable and praying that this works!
  • You can also take throat lozenges. The docs are good with that too.
  • I had a sore throat last week and local pharmacist said cough drops with NO menthol were fine. Doc confirmed this later in the week at my appt. Not sure what's up with the menthol, but I did fine some without it.
  • My doctor approved drops that do NOT have menthol in them.  I believe Sucrets is on my list of approved.

  • on my approved list is sucrets.  I had halls with menthol at home and took two in the past day.  Looks like some docs have said no to those.....better go get those sucrets.

  • My doctor said that I could take Robitussin for cough.  I would check with your doctor before taking though as every doctor's "list" of ok meds is different
